Cooking is a central practice utilized by La Mujer Obrera. Cooking is resistance and symbolic of a resilient culture. After 500 years of struggle, we continue to serve nopalitos, calabaza, and other traditional foods. It is not only nutrition, but also a form of spirituality that nurtures us. Food is medicine meant to connect us with nature. Café Mayapan is an initiative of La Mujer Obrera, it is one way the organization contributes to community development and empowering women. It is also a culinary expression of culture that is tasty and nutritious.
Serving the community since 2001, Café Mayapan provides a traditional healthy Mexican cuisine. Our food is prepared using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods, such as grilling and steaming. When in season, Café Mayapan uses fresh produce from our Farmers' Market.
Join us for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Let us take care of breakfast and lunch on Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
